What are NJTL Programs

Posh Rock Tennis Foundation is proud to be only 1 of 2 NJTL programs in Orange County, Florida. Being an NJTL allows Posh Rock to provide accessible tennis and educational programs to underserved youth, fostering character development, academic success, and a lifelong love for the sport. Through the NJTL network, Posh Rock can offer mentorship, life skills training, and opportunities for personal growth, empowering young athletes both on and off the court.

The National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network is a nationwide group of nonprofit youth development organizations that provide free or low-cost tennis and education programs to underserved communities. Founded in 1969 by Arthur Ashe, Charlie Pasarell, and Sheridan Snyder, NJTL aims to combine tennis instruction with academic support, life skills, and leadership training to help young people succeed on and off the court.

NJTL programs focus on character development, academic enrichment, and healthy lifestyles, often offering tutoring, mentoring, college preparation, and community service opportunities alongside tennis training. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) Foundation oversees and supports NJTL chapters across the country.

NJTLs are unique because they offer a variety of on-court programming and educational and life-skill components designed to enhance a player’s overall development. These educational components are diverse in nature, but can vary from things like mentoring, drug and alcohol counseling, to things like computer skills training, health and nutrition, and college preparation. The NJTL is a wonderful way for kids to get exercise, make friends, and have fun in a team-oriented and safe environment.
